Introduction

This application technique explains how to wire, configure, and program a GuardLogix® controller and POINT Guard
I/O™ module so a single MobileView™ terminal
controlled safety areas.
For partial-body access applications with slow machine speed, the operator can energize the motors by squeezing the
MobileView terminal enabling switch to the middle position after the safety door interlock access has been performed.
Safety door interlock management is not covered in this publication.
Follow the procedures described in this publication to use a bypass switch (formerly a two-position key lock switch) as a
plug for the MobileView junction box.
In this publication, the application examples use a Compact GuardLogix controller, but the information also applies to
any safety ControlLogix® controller.
IMPORTANT The application examples in this publication apply only to the following:
• A MobileView terminal with an integrated enabling switch and gray stop push button, but not to any MobileView terminal
with an emergency stop (E-stop) push button
• A MobileView IP20 junction box, but not to any MobileView IP65 junction box
