Workbook 4—Embroidery Basics
This exercise involves changing the spacing between individual letters within a word.
The following machines have this feature:
BERNINA 580
Select Alphabets folder: select folder #1 King Charles alphabet.
Select Letters in Lower Case. Enter bernina; touch Green Check to confirm.
Touch Selection icon and Select Add Motif, select folder #1 King Charles
alphabet.
Enter BERNINA; touch Green Check to confirm.
Repeat Add Motif process to create a total of three words.
Starting at the top make changes as follows: Select the word and touch 'i".
Select Letter Manipulation.
Use the Stitch Width knob to make changes:
- 1st bernina Stitch Width knob = 0; Touch next word.
- 2nd bernina Stitch Width knob = 25; Touch next word.
- 3rd bernina Stitch Width knob = 45
Note: Lettering that is duplicated does not retain the Letter Manipulation (Word Art)
properties, each word must be added new to create the combination.
BERNINA 780, 790, 880
Select Alphabets folder: select folder #1 Drifter alphabet.
Select Letters in Lower Case. Enter bernina;
touch Green Check to confirm.
Touch the Hoop Icon and select Oval Hoop;
select Close
Select Add Motif (from the layers), select #1 Drifter
alphabet and lower case
Enter BERNINA; touch Green Check .
Repeat Add Motif process to create a total of 3 words.
Starting at the top make changes as follows:
select the word and touch "i"; select Letter Manipulation.
Use the Stitch Width knob to make changes:
- 1st bernina Stitch Width knob = 0; Touch next word.
- 2nd bernina Stitch Width knob = 25; Touch next word.
- 3rd bernina Stitch Width knob = 45
