Remove the four bolts that hold the manual
starter
assembly to
the
engine. The manual
starter assembly
wil I
now slide off.

the
starter assembly
before
it is
disassembled. Removal
of
the
nut and washers
located in the middle makes
it
possible
to dismantle
the rest
of the starter assembly parts.

the
spring
be

all ed in
the
correct
posi-rio
n and
coiled in the proper
directio n. Not

in a clockw ise
direct ion
.
The spr
ing
must
be
wound in the
correct direction or
the
ent ire

disassemble the starter
assem bly t
o
correct
t he mi
stake
preload the starter spring with
1 /3

2/3
of
a
turn for
positive
return.
