CONTROL WHEEL - MOVE left and right to verify that the
autopilot can be overpowered.
7.
Autopilot - DISENGAGE by pressing the AP ENG Button or
(
the optional
AI
P DISC/ TRI M INTER switch. Verity that the
autopilot disconnects and all modes are cancelled.
8.
TRIM - SET to take off position.

AUTOPILOT OPERATION
I.
Before takeoff
a.
Autopilot - DISENGAGE by pressing the AP ENG Button
or the optional AP DISC/TRIM INTER switch
2.
In night Autopilot Engagement
a.
AP ENG button - PRESS. Note AP annunciator on. If no
other modes are selected the autopilot will operate in the
wings level mode.
3.
Heading Changes (with optional CWS Button only)
a.
Manual Heading Changes (with optional CWS Button only)
(I)
CWS button - PRESS and MANEUVER airplane to
(
the desired heading.
(2)
CWS button - RELEASE. Autopilot will maintain
airplane in wings level attitude.
NOTE
Airplane heading may change in the wings level
mode due to an airplane out of trim condition.
b.
Heading Hold
(I) Heading Selector Knob - SET BUG to desired
heading.
(2) HDG Mode Selector Button - PRESS. Note HDG
mode annunciator ON. Autopilot will automatically
turn the aircraft to the selected heading.
c.
Command Turns (Heading Hold mode ON)
(I)
HEADING Selector Knob - MOVE BUG to the
desired heading. Autopilot will automatically turn
the aircraft to the new selected heading.
4.
NAV Coupling
a.
When equipped with HSI.

Course Bearing Pointer - SET to desired course.
