Maintenance

CAUTION
If you leave the key in the switch, someone could accidently start the engine and seriously
injure you or other bystanders.
Remove the key from the switch before you perform any maintenance.
WARNING
If the mower decks are raised but not latched, the decks could lower unexpectedly and
seriously injure you or other bystanders.
Fully raise all decks and ensure the pins on all lift arms engage the latches.

Maintenance Procedure
• Change the center gear lubricant.
• Change the center gear lubricant.
• Check the mower belts.
• Check the tire air pressure.
• Check the PTO and drive shaft guards.
• Grease the constant velocity joint for the PTO drive shaft.
• Check the mower blades.
• Clean and inspect the mower.
• Grease the telescoping drive-shaft joints.
• Grease the drive shaft U-joints.
• Grease the drive shaft guard-slip joints.
• Grease the lift arms, hydraulic cylinders, latches, and impact struts (also, lubricate
the mower immediately after every washing).
• Grease the spindles.
• Grease the belt tensioner.
• Grease the deck rollers (also, lubricate the rollers immediately after every washing).
• Check the gearbox fluid level.
• Inspect gearbox and spindle bearings.
• Perform all 50-hour maintenance procedures.
• Remove all debris.
• Inspect the roller bearings.
• Paint any chipped surfaces.
• Change the center gear lubricant.
• Change the center gear lubricant.
• Inspect the PTO-shaft splines for signs of wear.
