Recording stereo and
bilingual programs
Tips
• When a stereo program is
received, the STEREO
indicator lights up. When a
bilingual program is
received, the BILINGUAL
indicator lights up.
• You can also use the
AUDIO MONITOR selector
on the control panel to
monitor the sound when
recording from the DV
input. The selector setting
will not affect the sound
recorded.
• For information on how the
VCR records sound, see
"How the audio mode is
decided" on page 61.
Note
• Set SAP in the ADVANCED
OPTIONS menu to MAIN
(page 54) when not
recording SAP sound, or no
sound will be recorded on
the right audio track.
Recording stereo programs
This VCR automatically receives and records stereo programs. When a
stereo program is received, the STEREO indicator lights up. If there is
noise in the stereo program, set AUTO STEREO in the ADVANCED
OPTIONS menu to OFF. The sound will be recorded in monaural but
with less noise. For details, see page 55.
Recording bilingual programs
Normally, this VCR records only the main sound. To record SAP
(Second Audio Program) sound, set SAP in the ADVANCED OPTIONS
menu to AUTO (the SAP indicator lights up). For details, see page 56.

To select the bilingual sound while recording
MONITOR
Press AUDIO MONITOR to select the sound you want.
This operation does not effect to the recording.
