Model 128/PC Instruction Manual

MAINTENANCE

The most common source of trouble with the Model 128/PC is poor connection between the
adapter cards and the ZIF connectors. This problem can be prevented or reduced by routine
inspection for damage, wear, or foreign matter. Be especially aware that poor connections
during the Learn process will prevent a complete wire list program.
Cleaning of the controls, front panels, and other surfaces may be done with any mild soap and
water. All "wetted" areas must be thoroughly dried after cleaning. Be careful not to allow any
liquid to run into the Model 128/PC.
Be sure the power is completely disconnected from the Model 128
before cleaning and thoroughly drying the unit. Damage to the
circuitry and/or injury to personnel could result.

REPAIR

If the Model 128/PC requires repair due to any defect of manufacture, and it is within the
warranty period, contact Cablescan, for instructions on returning it to the factory. Even if the
Model 128/PC is beyond the warranty period, and repair is necessary, it is advisable to return the
unit to the factory for repair.
If it is necessary for the user to replace parts, the replacement parts must be Cablescan, Inc.,
parts, or parts of equivalent rating and quality.

MEMORY BACKUP BATTERY

If Error Code 05 is displayed, and it is determined that the memory battery is the cause, it is
recommended the battery be replaced by technicians at Cablescan.
