5. Click Save Configuration.
6. Review and address any warning messages, as needed.
7. Click Confirm and Yes to proceed.
Creating a CacheCade logical drive
WARNING: Creating a logical drive will permanently delete any data on an associated drive.
Procedure
1. From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration > HPE Smart Array P824i-p MR
Gen10 > Main Menu > Configuration Management > Create CacheCade Logical Drive.
2. In the Create CacheCade Logical Drive screen, enter the CacheCade Logical Drive Name.
3. Select the RAID level.
4. Select the Write Cache Policy:
Write Through - The controller sends a data transfer completion signal to the host when the drive
subsystem receives all the data in a transaction.
Write Back - The controller sends a data transfer completion signal to the host when the controller
cache receives all the data in a transaction. If you select this policy when the energy pack is
absent, the firmware disables the Write Back policy and defaults to the Write Through policy.
5. Select the drives that you want to include.
6. Click Create CacheCade Logical Drive.
Viewing array properties
Procedure
1. From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration > HPE Smart Array P824i-p MR
Gen10 > Main Menu > Configuration Management > View Array Properties.
2. In the View Array Properties screen, for each array, view the following properties:
Capacity Allocation - associated logical drives and available free capacity
Protected - not currently supported
Viewing global spare drives
You must have previously created spare drives to view this option.
Description
Drive cache setting for the logical drive. Possible
values are Unchanged, Enable, or Disable.
Logical drive initialization setting. Possible
options are No, Fast, and Full.
