In the example in Fig. 36, the MM8000 Server and Client stations are connected to
100BaseT Switches, whereas the Ethernet Ports are connected to 10BaseT Hubs.
One Ethernet Port is connected via Router and WAN to the centre.
When planning a dedicated safety- and security network with commercial Ethernet
components, consider the following aspects:
Be aware that the maximum length of a segment is 100m;
Use Category 5 TP cable or better (Category 6 recommended);
Install RJ45 outlets close to the DMS PCs and Ethernet Ports;
Install the network components in a safe place, where only our service engineers
can access;
Connect the network components to a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply);
Keep spare parts for the network components.
