ADJUSTING THE IDLING SPEED

• Start the engine and warm it up for several minutes at about
1000-2000 RPM, while occasionally revving it to 4000 to 5000
RPM. The engine is warm when it quickly responds to the throt-
tle.
• To adjust the engine idling speed, turn the throttle stop screw,
G. Turn the screw clockwise to increase idling speed or coun-
ter-clockwise to decrease it.
Standard engine idling speed:
1800- 2000 rpm.
If the specified idling speed cannot be obtained as de-
scribed above, have an Authorised MALAGUTI Service
Centre make the adjustment.
PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND MINOR REPAIR

ADJUSTING THE THROTTLE CABLE

The engine idling speed must be correctly adjusted be-
fore checking and adjusting the throttle cable free play.
Adjust the throttle cable by turning the adjusting nut until the ap-
propriate free play is obtained.
Play: 3-5 mm
Adjusting
1. Loosen locknut C
2. Turn adjusting nut D to A to increase free play or to B to de-
crease it.
3. Tighten the locknut.
