3 UNITS DESCRIPTION
In the following paragraphs are inserted the detailed information of SDH unit and SFP/XFP modules used
in the equipment for SDH applications.
3.1 "1x10 G Synchronous Optical" unit (1P10GSO)
(Refer to Figure 15. on page 39)
General:
1P10GSO Port provides bi-directional processing of one STM64 signal, such as:
•
regenerator and multiplex section transport overhead insertion/extraction
•
payload assembly/disassembly at VC4 level
•
DCC access and Auxiliary OverHead Channels insertion/extraction
•
Loop back testing capability
The Unit will be used in conjunction with either an "XS-642" Optical Transceiver or an "XFP-E ADAPTER
+ Optical Transceiver (example XI-641)" as an Optical Line Interface Card at STM-64 Level.
From an intra-equipment functional viewpoint, unit assembly carries out its tasks working in conjunction
with other equipment parts, such as:
•
Matrix subsystem (two MT320 cards) for payload exchange
•
Synchronization subsystem (SETS functions) for reference timings (on MT320 cards)
•
Second Level Controller (SLC) for provisioning and alarm management (on MT320 cards)
•
SERV320 card for Auxiliary OverHead channels processing
•
EC320 cards for DCC termination
Referring to ITU-G.783 recommendation, the 1P10GSO Port card performs the Transport Terminal
Function (sink on RX side, source on TX side) on a STM-64 data stream.
The TTF Function is connected to two MT320 boards (1+1 configuration) for cross connection (HPC)
processing.
Unit will provide Optical Safety support by means of an Automatic Laser Shutdown (ALS) procedure(refer
to ITU-T G.664).
