Alpha dialing
To eliminate the need to press the abc and 123 soft keys when you enter text, you can configure the
D160 dialpad to default to alphabetic mode. Please note that IP Office does not yet support alpha
dialing.
Use the following procedure to enable or disable alpha dialing mode on the D160 handset.
Procedure
1. Press the More.. soft key twice and then press the Config soft key.
2. In the User Settings menu, navigate to Alpha Dialing using the Next and Prev soft keys
and press Select.
The first line on the display indicates the status of the current setting. The second line on the
display lists the soft key options to enable or disable alpha dialing.
3. Press the Next or Prev soft keys to toggle between On or Off and press Select.

Configuring the prefix dial number list
When making a call from the directory or the call log, you might want to add a prefix dial number in
order to avoid the repetitive re-entry of those prefix digits each time you make a call. You can view
the prefix dial numbers that are available to you as a list on the handset when you make a call. For
more information, see
