6.1 Service and Maintenance of ATEX equipment (A EX 2GD & 3GD)
Make sure the required level of protection with regards to the equipment category as
follows:
• Regularly inspect the vacuum cleaner for damage or malfunction. If the vacuum
cleaner is damaged, it must be shut down and possible explosive atmosphere
removed.
• Make sure that no explosive atmosphere and/or dust layers are present when
cleaning, servicing or inspecting the vacuum cleaner
• Use only Nederman original spare parts.
6.2

Clean the cartridge filter/filter bag

NOTE!
• Clean the filter after each use.
• If using a washable filter, it can be washed with water and detergent. Let it air dry.
• Replace cartridge filter after it has been washed twice.
• If cartridge filter is placed into a dust bag for disposal, tie off the dust bag, see figure 9.
1. Turn off vacuum cleaner.
2. Empty dust from filter into a container or dust bag.
3. Clean cartridge filter by tapping it lightly on the floor.
4. Shake filter bag.
6.2.1 Manual reverse air cleaning
Depending on the model, the vacuum cleaner uses one of two methods for manual reverse
air cleaning of filters, see figures 10 and 11.

1. Turn on vacuum cleaner.
2. Handle position during vacuuming 10(A).
3. Move handle to position 10(B) for filter cleaning.
4. Repeat three times.

1. Turn on vacuum cleaner.
2. Disconnect hose 11(A).
3. Open and close lid 11(B).
4. Repeat three times.
6.2.2 Compressed air filter cleaning
1. Turn on compressed air.
2. Close ball valve on ejector top and clean for 15 seconds. See figure 1(B).
3. Turn off compressed air to stop cleaning.
4. To repeat filter cleaning, turn on compressed air again for an additional 15 seconds.
Repeat if necessary.
5. Open the ball valve on ejector top to start vacuuming. See figure 1(C).
