3 Description
3.1

Intended use

This vacuum cleaner is designed for the collection of dust and granulated material. It can
also be configured for the collection of wet material. For use with wet material, the vacuum
cleaner is delivered with a float ball.
A EX 3GD model vacuum cleaners can also be used to collect combustible dust, see section
3.2 A EX 2GD & 3GD- Model vacuum cleaners and ATEX.
CAUTION! Risk of equipment damage.
• Use the correct filter for collecting wet material.
• Make sure to correctly assemble the filter bag when changing from wet to dry collection.
NOTE! The float ball can be removed when collecting dry material.
3.2 A EX 2GD & 3GD- Model vacuum cleaners and ATEX
Equipment category
All A EX 2GD and 3GD model vacuum cleaners are marked with the symbol
either category 2GD or 3GD equipment according to the latest "ATEX Directive". This means
that models with the EX symbol may be placed in areas classified as either (zone 21 or 1
for A EX 2GD models) or (zone 22 or 2 for A EX 3GD models) according to the latest "ATEX
Workplace Directive".
X - Special conditions for safe use
The stationary vacuum cleaners may not be used to vacuum combustible material; they are
only for use with noncombustible dust. This is since they lack a protection system to limit
the effects of an internal explosion.
Special conditions for safe use
If the A EX model vacuum cleaner is to be part of a centralized vacuum system, such a
system must be designed and built according to applicable ATEX and local regulations. It is
the responsibility of the system designer to ensure that all necessary safety requirements
are met for the complete system. It lies within the responsibility of the end-user to
determine and develop proper documentation.
