    Servicing accessory: Evolis Avansia Adhesive cleaning card. Before cleaning, remove cards from the printer. Evolis Avansia cleaning cards can only be used once. The frequency and quality of cleaning are determining factors to prolong the life of the print head, printer, prevent printing, transport and feeding issue. Special care should be taken for this operation.

    MANUAL PRINTER CLEANING Recommended cleaning cycle: Every 10000 cards or after each technical hardware maintenance. Servicing accessories: Evolis pre-saturated cleaning cards, cotton swabs, wipes, dry air pressure spray. Remove cards from the printer. Cleaning cards can only be used once.

    Flip over rollers cleaning 1. Turn off the printer. 2. Open the top cover (a) and remove card feeder (b). 3. Open the front cover (a) and the trapdoor cover (b).
  • Page 11 4. Remove the cleaning tape cassette. 5. Rotate the flip over wheel and locate the flip over rollers as shown.
  • Page 12 6. Insert the Evolis pre-saturated cleaning card between the flip over rollers and the white pressure rollers. Rotate the flip-over wheel to clean the flip-over rollers by keeping the cleaning card in your hand. 7. Rotate the flip over wheel and locate the others flip over rollers as shown.

    Primary transfer rollers cleaning 1. Turn off the power. 2. Open the front cover. 3. Remove the Transfer film cassette. 4. Remove the ink ribbon cassette.

Clean the nip roller surface with the pre-saturated cleaning (a) by rotating it with a flat screwdriver (b). Clean the print head roller surface with the pre-saturated cleaning card by manually rotating it.

    Feeding roller cleaning 1. Turn off the printer. 2. Open the top cover (a) and remove the card feeder (b). 3. Use Evolis pre-saturated cleaning card. Clean the feeder roller surface with the pre-saturated cleaning card by rotating it.

    Cleaning rollers cleaning 1. Turn off the power. 2. Open the front cover 3. Remove the cleaning tape cassette (blue part). 4. Remove the cleaning tape cassette handle, lift it and pull.

    Filter Cleaning 1. Turn off the printer. 2. Remove the filter cover on the rear of the printer. 3. Remove the filter from the filter cover. 4. Use a dry air pressure spray to clean the filter.

    Print head cleaning Directly touching the end of the print head may deteriorate printing quality or cause damage to the printer. The print head is heated to a high temperature immediately after printing. Therefore, do not begin cleaning the print head until it cools down. 1.
  • Page 30 4. Use an Evolis’ cotton swab to clean the heating element of the print head. Area to clean with cotton swab Be careful of static electricity when cleaning the print head to avoid issues such as electrostatic damage to the print head.
