Comply with the warnings and follow the instructions closely.
WARNING!
The failure of a rim or tyre under pressure may trigger an explosion which propels wheel debris sideways or
upwards hard enough to cause damage, serious injury or even death!
Although this tyre changer is fitted with a pressure limiter set at 4 Bar (60 PSI), this is NOT a safety device and
does not eliminate the risks and damage related to a possible explosion.
A WHEEL MAY EXPLODE WHEN:
1. The rim diameter is not exactly the same as the tyre diameter.
2. The rim or tyre is faulty.
3. The maximum recommended pressure is exceeded during bead insertion.
4. The tyre is inflated to above the maximum pressure recommended by the manufacturer.
5. The operator fails to comply with the appropriate safety regulations.
Proceed as follows:
1- Unscrew the valve casing and the inside of the valve.
2- Fit the inflation head on the valve, ensuring that it has engaged correctly.
3- Check again that the rim and tyre are exactly the same diameter.
4- Check that the rim and tyre are sufficiently well lubricated, and lubricate again if
necessary.
5- Press the inflation pedal (Fig. G/6).
6- Insert the bead, supplying air in short bursts and constantly checking the pressure
on the pressure gauge (16, Fig. G/8) in the intervals between bursts, until the beads
have fitted into their seats. Particular care and attention must be paid when inserting
tyre beads on rims which have a hump to hold the bead in place (HUMP, DOUBLE
HUMP, etc.).
7- Continue, still supplying air in short bursts, until the required
pressure is reached.
N.B.: If the required pressure value is exceeded, press the deflation
button (17, Fig. G/8). Release it whenever you wish to check the
pressure inside the tyre.
NOTE: In some cases, even if air is supplied, the tyre fails to grip and
cannot be inflated.
In these cases, the problem can be overcome using the optional
GT300 (TUBELESS INFLATION) accessory.
EXPLOSION HAZARD!
- Never exceed 4 Bar (60 PSI) during bead insertion and inflation.
N.B.: If a higher tyre operating pressure is required, remove the wheel from the tyre changer and place it inside
one of the special safety cages available on the market before continuing to inflate.
- Never exceed the maximum pressure recommended by the tyre's manufacturer.
- Keep your hands and body as far away from the wheel as possible.
- Only specially trained staff may carry out these operations.
- Do not allow others to work on or approach the tyre changer.
