4.3.5.2 Exhaust gas aftertreatment management and monitoring

Distributed Control Module (DCM)
1 X41 – CAN connection to
ECU on engine
2 X42 – 24 V DC power sup-
ply
The DCM is an input/output channel extension of the Engine Control Unit (ECU) to monitor and control the
RA dosing electronic system components.
The DCM is connected to the ECU via the engine CAN bus. The DCM decodes ECU CAN data and sets the
signals at the physical interfaces of the connected RA components according to the information sent by the
ECU.
Each DCM location in the electronic system is coded by the cabling thus defining its role and configuration.
The ECU configures the DCM at power-up.
Technical data
• Flat housing
• 24-V DC power supply
Functions
• Receives signal data from sensors (e.g. NOx sensor) and components (e.g. supply unit and pre-feed mod-
ule) and sends it to the ECU
• Receives signal data from the ECU and sends it to the supply unit and pre-feed module
• Power supply for supply unit, pre-feed module, heating components and NOx sensor
