Transport
1.
Install the engine mount locking devices (→ Page 32) and the transport locking device for the engine prior
to transportation (→ Page 29).
2.
Always use the lifting eyes provided when transporting the engine. See lifting requirements (→ Page 24).

Use the four lifting points provided to transport the exhaust gas aftertreatment system. See lifting require-
ments (→ Page 24).
5.
Use suitable transport and lifting gear only.
6.
Transport the exhaust gas aftertreatment system / engine in their intended installation positions only: Maxi-

7.
Remove any loose parts on the exhaust gas aftertreatment system / engine.

Secure the engine / exhaust gas aftertreatment system against tipping during transportation. Secure such
as to preclude slipping and tipping when driving up or down inclines and ramps.
Placement after transport
1.
Only set the exhaust gas aftertreatment system / engine down on a firm, level surface. The surface must not
have any bumps, steps / platforms or objects lying on it.
2.
Make sure that the consistency and load-bearing capacity of the ground or support surface is adequate.
3.
Never set the engine down on its oil pan unless expressly authorized to do so by MTU.
4.
Set down the exhaust gas aftertreatment system in such a way that only the mounts, not the main body,
