8.0 Maintenance

Before any maitenance is started, turn the battery off and remove it.
NOTE: All Service and Maintenance proceedures carried out on the Add-on Bike require the Battery Locking Key. Without
this key no maintenance is possible. Checks to be carried out before use:
When
• Every 4 weeks,
(depending on use).
• Every 2 - 3 months,
(depending on use).
Maintenance plan
Check all screws / fastening elements are firmly seated
Functional / safety check of all lights (if fitted)
Functional / safety check of the docking system (add-
on bike and wheelchair)
Clean and oil / grease all pivot points and bearings
Check brake-pads for wear and if necessary, re-adjust
the distance from brake-pad to brake-disc.
Check Throttle Function
"Check function of main and parking brake
(replace cables and brake pads if needed)"
"Check chain, gear, gear rim for wear and tear
(and replace if needed)"
"Visual inspection of the fork and connecting frame for
any damage
(e.g. crack, formation, deformation, etc.)"
"Visual inspection of the wheelchair frame and back
tubes for any damage
(e.g. crack, formation, deformation, etc.)"
Check tyres (tread, cracks, damages) and replace if
needed
Check the spoke tension and the rim, hub for damag-
es on the add-on bike and the wheelchair
Check all cable and electrical connectors
Check tightness of steering shaft and handlebars.

What
• Grease the cables where they leave the
switches and the brake levers.
• Check all screw connections are secure.
• Clean regularly.
• Check the unit is clean and in good
condition.
Comments
The following can be done by user or
attendant:
• Before oiling, please remove old oil
remnants from the components.
• Spray lightly with Teflon spray.
• Ensure that surplus oil/spray does not
contaminate the surrounding area, (Clothes,
brakes, etc).
The following can be done by user or

• Check for cracks in the rubber components.
• Replace any cracked rubber components or
take it to your nearest authorised service
centre for refurbishment.
