The system is cooled to maintain optimal operating
temperature by a raw water pump. The pump draws
water through a seacock in the bilge and filters it
through a sea water strainer (see Fig_6.10-1). (The
sea water strainer should be inspected and cleaned
frequently.) The water passes through the air
conditioning/heating unit, and then flows overboard
above
the
water
conditioning/heating unit drains condensate to the
shower sump box. The Helm air conditioning/heating
unit drains condensate to a thru-hull on the port side.

To start system:

• Make sure the seacock for the cooling pump
is open.
• Turn ON the AIR CONDITIONER circuit
breaker on the AC main distribution panel.
(see Fig_6.2-5)
• Follow
the
Conditioner/Heater
operation.
Note:
When boat is equipped with two shore power
inlets (has both the Cabin and Helm Deck A/C),
the bottom inlet is Shore Power 2 and will only
feed power to the Cabin A/C unit. Shore Power 1
will need to remain energized in order to provide
cooling water to the A/C pump which feeds
cooling water to both Helm and Cabin A/C units.
B. Head Vent Fan
The head vent removes stagnant air and odor from
the head by means of a 12 volt exhaust fan. It is
turned ON and OFF by the switch (see Fig_6.4-2) in
the head.
