Troubleshooting Procedures
To avoid risk of electrical shock, personal injury, or death, disconnect power to microwave and discharge
capacitors before servicing, unless testing requires power.
Symptom
Fan motor engages
when microwave is
plugged in.
Oven does not operate
and return to standby.
Microwave emitting a
loud buzzing noise.
Turntable motor does
not rotate.
Microwave stops
operation during
cooking.
Microwave emits sparks.
Uneven cooking.
Turntable emits noise
when operational.

Checkout Procedure: Circuit Board

The START function fails to operate, but the high voltage
systems, interlock/monitor switches and door sensing/relays
all test good.
Proper temperature is not obtained.
Buzzer does not sound or sounds continuously.
Some segments of 1 or more digits display on the touch
panel, or display when they should not.
NOTE:
Check for microwave energy leakage after replacing Printed Circuit Board Assembly.

Checkout Procedure: Fuse

PROBLEM
Fuse blows immediately after door is closed.
Fuse blows immediately after door is opened.
Fuse blows when door is closed and START
key is touched.

1. Door sensing switch wiring loose.
2. Door sensing switch wiring broken.
1. Defective PCB assembly.
1. Loose fan and/or fan motor.
2. Screws loose on high voltage transformer.
3. High voltage diode shorted.
1. Turntable motor wiring open or loose.
2. Turntable motor defective.
1. Primary interlock switch wiring open or loose.
2. Thermal cutout engaged.
1. Metallic ware or cooking dishes touching wall.
2. Ceramic ware trimmed with gold/silver powder.
1. Uneven intensity of microwave due to
microwave characteristics.
1. Turntable motor.
PROBLEM

Cause
Defective Control Printed Circuit Board Assembly
Improper operation of the primary interlock and secondary
interlock switches and/or interlock monitor switch.
Malfunction of high voltage transformer; high voltage capacitor
including diode, magnetron, blower motor or circuit board.

Repair loose wire.
Repair broken wire.
Replace main PCB.
Tighten screws on fan motor
and/or high voltage transformer.
Replace high voltage diode.
Replace turntable motor.
Adjust door latch and switches.
Wait for microwave to cool.
Do not use cookware with
metallic trimming.
Use plastic wrap or cover with
lid.
Stir food once or twice while
cooking.
Replace turntable motor.
