Nexxt Solutions - ACRUX - Wireless N Gigabit Router
Figure 4-22 Wireless Advanced
Transmit Power - You can specify the transmit
*
power of the router in this field. The available
settings are High, Middle or Low. High is the
default setting, which is also recommended.
Beacon Interval - Set the desired beacon interval
*
in this field, ranging from 20-1000 milliseconds.
Beacons are packets broadcast by the router to
synchronize a wireless network. The beacon
Interval value indicates the frequency of the
beacon. The default value is set to "100".
RTS Threshold - You can specify the RTS
*
(Request to Send) Threshold in this field. If the
packet is larger than the specified RTS Threshold
size, the router will send RTS frames to a particu-
lar receiving station and negotiate the sending of
a data frame. The default value is 2346.
Fragmentation Threshold - It specifies the maxi-
*
mum size for a packet before data is fragmented
into multiple packets. Setting the Fragmentation
Threshold too low may result in poor network per-
formance due to the generation of an excessive
number of packets. 2346 is the default setting,
which is also the value recommended.
