Installation Procedures
Do not touch the power supply when the power cord is connected. For systems with a power switch,
Warning
line voltages are present within the power supply even when the power switch is off and if the power
cord is connected. For systems without a power switch, line voltages are present within the power
supply when the power cord is connected.
Connect AC Power to the Switch
To connect AC power to the Cisco MGX 8950 switch, use AC power cords with the following types of
AC wall plugs:

Complete the following steps to connect a North American AC power cord to the switch:
Step 1
Insert the female connector into the AC receptacle on the PS tray.
Step 2
Twist the plug to the right to secure it.
Step 3
Insert the other end of the power cable into the wall outlet.
