PROBLEM
FAIL indicator is on in
Lights or LCD or PC.
Note:
1. A Power On-Off switch is installed near the Power Supply terminal block for easier
maintenance when power should be turned off before making wiring changes. The switch
is in series with the 12VDC internal voltage. It doesn't cut the 100-240 VAC !
2. When the SLC-220 is powered up, it goes through a self-test procedure of a few
seconds, which may turn on the lights and relays. Only then the sensors are sampled and
the lights, relays and 4-20mA outputs are updated to real values.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
Faulty sensor(s).
Sensor is not properly
connected.
Sensor is out of
calibration.
Abnormal signal output
from the Sensor because
of Sensor malfunction.
If Safety Barriers are
installed:
Safety Barrier failure.
Internal wire inside
SLC-220 enclosure is
loose.
POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Check which channel is faulty. Refer
to chapter 4.3. Try to connect the
sensor to another channel (known as
good) to distinguish between a faulty
Sensor and a faulty channel.
Check cables from the sensor. Refer
to the wiring diagram.
Check that the sensor signal is within
the limits of AIR and WATER values.
Otherwise, re-calibrate the channel.
Disconnect the Sensor from the
SLC-220, connect it to external 12
VDC power supply ("+" to "DET+", "-"
to "DET-").
Measure DC current between "DET
SIG" and "DET-". The μA readings
should match Sensor Test
Certificate.
Otherwise, contact your distributor.
Resistance between points 1 and 3
of Safety Barrier should be:
MTL 7715+: 155 ohms maximum.
MTL 7710+: 85 ohms maximum.
Refer to wiring diagram. If the
resistance is higher the fuse inside
the safety barrier is blown and the
safety barrier should be replaced.
Check internal wiring (refer to wiring
diagram).
Re-connect loose wire / connector.
