6.2.2 Access Point Setup without Null Modem Cable (Cold Start Mode)
1. Insert 10base-T or 10bast-2 LAN line to the proper slot in the back of the AP.
2. Insert the SWL-2000N into the PCMCIA slot of in the back of the AP.
3. Turn on the power of the AP WHILE you are holding down the button in front of the AP.
4. All the LEDs will turn on and off. When all the LEDs are off, release the button, and you will see
all the LEDs blinking in a chasing pattern from left to right.
5. Now, from your wired PC (not wireless), go to "start" in your task bar, go to "run", and type in "ping –t
xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" to send ping message to your AP. (Here, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx represents an IP address you
want to assign to your AP)
6. When your AP responds to this ping request, the blinking of your AP will stop.
7. Turn off the power of your AP and turn it back on with no button pressed down this time.
8. From your PC, telnet to your AP using its IP address and proceed to the configuration setup.
9. When you are prompted to enter a Password in telnet mode, type in "default" which is a preset default
password.

6.3 Configuration Setup

1. To get help about commands, just type in "help" at CMD prompt.
2. In order to identify the CONFIGURATION, you type in "config" at CMD prompt and press the ENTER
key.
3. Set parameters for the environment using the "set" command at CMD prompt as follows:
CMD: set ESSID MagicLAN (Group Name)
