6.1 Before Access Point (AP) Installation

6.1.1 Access Point (AP)

SAMSUNG MagicLAN SWL-2000AP (Access Point) is equipped with an Ethernet Adapter supporting

10base-T, 10bast-2 LAN wire and MagicLAN wireless LAN Adapter Card.

SWL-2000AP (Access Point) and Power Adapter

SWL-2000N (PCMCIA Wireless LAN) Adapter Card

SWL-2000AP (Access Point) Utilities Diskette

Null Modem Cable - Optional

6.2 Access Point (AP) Installation

1. Link the PC serial port and the AP serial port with Null Modem Cable.

2. Insert 10base-T or 10bast-2 LAN line to the proper slot in the back of the AP.

3. Insert the SWL-2000N into the PCMCIA slot of in the back of the AP.

4. Turn on the power of the AP

5. All the LEDs will turn on and off. If the alert LED remains on, it indicates an error condition.

6. Press down "Start" on the task bar, go to "Programs", go to "Accessories", go to "Communications"

and click on "Hyper Terminal" there.

7. If there is no "Hyper Terminal", you should add Hyper Terminal program by following the next steps.

Press down "Start" on the task bar, go to "Settings" and click on "Control Panel". In "Control Panel"

box, double click on "Add/Remove Programs", go to Windows Setup tab, double click on

"Communications", check the "Hyper Terminal" and click on "OK". This will install Hyper

Terminal on your system, and now you can follow the next step.

8. Run Hyper Terminal by double clicking on Hyper Terminal icon.

9. Enter any name for the connection in the blank and select an icon for it in the following box.

Click on "OK".
