Notes on connection

Requirement
● The device has been installed according to the information provided in these operating
instructions.
Connecting cables
Note
Use copper cables at connectors with terminal connections
Use copper (Cu) cables for all supply lines that are connected to the device with terminals,
e.g. 24 V DC power supply cables to the 24 V DC power supply connectors.
Use only shielded standard cables as data connecting cables, order information is available
in the section Accessories (Page 27).
Connection sequence
Connect the device in the following sequence:
1. Earth connection (Page 57)
2. Power supply (Page 58)
Perform a power-up test to ensure the power supply is connected with the correct
polarity.
3. PC
– Connecting IFP Standard, Extended and PRO to a PC (Page 64)
– Connecting Ethernet Monitor to a PC (Page 67)
4. I/O devices (Page 68), if needed
Note
Damage to the device
Failure to adhere to the connection sequence can damage the device.
Make sure you connect the device according to sequence listed above.
You disconnect the device in the reverse order.
