The Quality of Service function allows the switch to implement congestion-
management and congestion-avoidance of the Ethernet traffic based on
the prioritization values in Layer 2 frames. Implementing QoS in the
network makes performance predictable and bandwidth utilization much
more effective.
The following feature commands are included in this chapter:
"QoS"
"Rate Limit" on page 55
The switch supports eight CoS queues for each egress port. For each of
the eight queues, two types of scheduling can be configured: Strict Priority
and non-Strict Priority (Weighted Round Robin). Mapping for CoS, DSCP
and IP precedence is available on a port by port basis.
