Model M1099 (Mfg Since 8/07)

General

The Model M1099 will perform many types of operations
that are beyond the scope of this manual. Many of these
operations can be dangerous or deadly if performed
incorrectly.
The instructions in this section are written with the
understanding that the operator has the necessary
knowledge and skills to operate this machine. If at any
time you are experiencing difficulties performing any
operation, stop using the machine!
If you are an inexperienced operator, we strongly recom-
mend that you read books, trade articles, or seek train-
ing from an experienced lathe operator before perform-
ing any unfamiliar operations. Above all, your safety
should come first!
Disconnect power to the lathe, and make sure the spindle
is stopped before proceeding with any adjustments or
maintenance. Failure to comply may result in serious
personal injury or death.

Power Control

Pressing the red emergency stop button (Figure 5) cuts
power to the machine. Twisting the emergency stop but-
ton clockwise and letting it pop out resets the lathe, so
when you push the green power ON button lathe opera-
tions can begin again.
Complete the Test Run & Break-In procedure on
Page 13 before using this lathe for any cutting or
threading operations; otherwise, gear box damage
will occur.
