Curr Head — The current head; to perform an accurate calibration, measure this just before you input the value.
Zero Dist — The distance from the face of the transducer to the bottom of the channel. Zero Dist shown on
the display is a calculated value, the sum of Curr Head and the distance measured by the transducer from the
face of the transducer to the liquid surface. Zero Dist is shown for information only and cannot be modified
while in Auto calibration.
The Manual parameters are:
Max Head — The maximum head for your primary element, available from the flow chart supplied by the
primary element manufacturer.
Zero Dist — The measured distance from the face of the transducer to the bottom of the channel.
The numbers shown upon entry into these menus show the current values for the displayed channel. Modification of
any of the calibration values is performed by direct entry using the keypad or by using the Arrow Keys to scroll to a
number. When the desired number is shown, pressing the Enter Key registers the new value in memory.
23 SIM (SIMULATE)
This menu allows you to input a simulated head and display the corresponding flow, so that you can check the flow
calculation against the flow values provided by the primary element manufacturer.
When in the Sim Menu, a prompt, asks I/O Follows Sim?. If you select Yes, the setpoints, current output, etc.
respond to the simulated value as if it was the actual value. If you select No, the setpoints, current output, etc. are
not affected by the simulation.
The display then shows the last Simulated Head input. Modification of the Simulated Head is performed by direct
entry using the keypad or by using the Arrow Keys to scroll to a number. When the desired number is shown,
pressing the Enter Key registers the Simulated Head in memory and initiates the simulation. The display then shows
the corresponding Simulated Flow. Pressing the Esc Key exits the Sim Menu.24 Unit
The flow rate and total flow units and format were selected during the Startup Procedure. This menu allows the
flow rate (Flow) and total flow (Total) units and format to be displayed and modified.
When in each submenu, an asterisk on the display indicates the current selection. Pressing the Function Key (F1,
F2, or F3 Key) directly below the desired selection on the display registers it in memory.
25 AVG (AVERAGE)
This menu is used to set the number of individual readings (from 1 to 255) that the controller averages for each
display reading while vessel monitoring. The controller calculates a running average. The larger the number
of individual readings in the running average, the smaller effect a variation in signal will have on the average.
This results in fewer variations on the display reading and an easier to read display. Avg affects the value seen
on the display as well as setpoints, current outputs, and serial outputs. The default value for Avg is 10 for flow
applications.
The number shown upon entry into this menu is the channel's current averaging factor. This number can be
modified by using the Up and Down Arrow Keys or by direct entry with the Alphanumeric Keys. When the
desired number is shown, pressing the Enter Key saves the new value.
