3.2. Modification Plan
As shown in the table 6, current condition is not enough to protect the weather radar. So we will
suppose modification plan to protect the weather radar.
3.2.1. Extend existing lightning rod
We have installed new lightning rod to protect the radar, but it is not enough due to some
restrictions. Hereafter, consider how to adapt the LPL by extending the lightning rod.
As shown in the table 8, we need to extend the rod at least 5.1 m from current length, but it will
not be allowed due to height limitation at this site.
