6. Place the power supply in an anti-static bag for storage.
7. If the empty power supply bay where you are installing the replacement power supply has a cover
plate, remove the two screws near the edges of the cover plate to unlock the plate, and then remove
the plate.
8. Remove the replacement power supply from its packaging.
9. To install the power supply into the chassis, orient the power supply with the power plug receptacle
on the right, as shown in the previous illustration.
10. W ith one hand, hold the bar on the front panel of the power supply. With the other hand, support the
underside of the power supply, and insert the power supply into the empty power supply slot. Gently
push the power supply into the chassis until it is firmly seated.
CAUTION
Carefully follow the mechanical guides on each side of the power supply slot and make sure
the power supply is properly inserted in the guides. Never insert the power supply upside
down.
NOTE
Do not force the installation. If the power supply does not slide in easily, ensure that the power
supply is correctly oriented before continuing.
11. S ecure the power supply to the chassis by tightening the two captive screws using the Phillips
screwdriver.
12. P lug the power cord from the AC power source into the power supply to power on the unit.
The power supply will immediately attempt to power up.
CAUTION
If you observe that the switch has powered down approximately two minutes after a power
supply replacement, it is likely because the new power supply has a mismatched airflow.
Check your console for error messages.
13. V erify that the LED on the new power supply displays steady green while the device is operating.
If the LED is not steady green, ensure that the power supply is securely installed and seated
properly.
