3) Thread take-up spring
1. W hen the thread take up spring ① 's position is
changed: Loosen the screw ② and turn the thread
adjusting device shaft ③ at the face plate part to
set the position at the thread guide front ④ . (The
position for general material is at 6~8mm; the
position for heavy material at 4~6mm)
2. W hen the thread take up spring ① 's tension
is changed: Disassemble the automatic thread
adjusting device ⑤ from the arm. Loosen two
screws ⑥ for the thread tension collar. Then loosen
two screws ⑧ from the body ⑦ of the thread
adjusting device and turn the thread adjusting
device shaft ③ to set the tension of the thread take
up spring ① . Turn the shaft clockwise to increase
the tension; turn the shaft counter clockwise to
decrease the tension.
