The upper console includes:
(1) bypass switcher control and (13) buttons for selecting the audio level to monitor
(if the TX 520 is configured for multi-level audio), (14) the buttons for multi-channel
control (if connected), (2) the plasma display, and (3) audio monitoring control.
The top row of the lower console includes:
(4) Machine control.
(5) Automation control.
(6) The <BLACK/SIL> button, permitting the output to be faded or cut to
black/silence.
The centre of the lower console includes:
(7) Source selection busses - AUX, PGM, and PST - and the source name display
for all the busses. At the end of each row of source selection buttons, a single
small button is used for controlling unity audio gain for that bus.
(8) Buttons for selecting the auxiliary bus (AUX SELECT), either AUX1 or AUX2.
(9) Audio-over control.
The bottom row of the lower console includes buttons for:
(10) selecting a transition type, (11) taking sources to air, to (12) downstream
keyers (DSK1 to DSK4) and (15) DVE controls.

There are four source selection busses, operated through three rows of source
buttons, located in the black background on the lower console. The TX 520 can
have up to 20 sources accessible to each bus. An additional four sources are
available through the auxiliary busses for monitoring independent sources, for
example, audio-overs, DSK and DVE previews, etc.
