When servicing any hydraulic component of the mower ensure that all
decks and wings are in their lowered position and all hydraulic
pressure is relieved.
Tighten all connections before applying pressure.
It is important that each person who comes in contact with the
machine be alert to any faults.
Follow these basic precautions:
Never adjust a pressure relief valve or other pressure-limiting
device to a higher pressure than specified.
Check to make sure hydraulic hoses are not worn or damaged,
and are routed to avoid chafing.
When connecting mower to tractor ensure hydraulic hoses have
sufficient slack for negotiating turns and uneven terrain.
Immediately replace any hydraulic hose that shows signs of
swelling, wear, leaks or damage so it does not burst.
Do not use your hand to check for hydraulic oil leaks. Use a
piece of cardboard instead. Hydraulic fluid escaping under
pressure can penetrate the skin causing serious injury. If skin
penetration occurs, seek medical attention immediately. Relieve
all pressure before disconnecting hoses.
Do not bend or strike high-pressure lines, tubes or hoses, or
reinstall them in a bent or damaged condition.
HYDRAULIC OIL HANDLING PRECAUTIONS
Oils can irritate and damage the eyes, throat, and sensitive skin.
Avoid contact.
Petroleum based oils are hazardous to the environment. Take special
care not to spill or discharge these fluids. Use approved containers
and methods to handle and dispose of them.
Use an authorized disposal and recycling company.
