Before Starting Work

Note and follow the following points before each deployment to ensure safe working
with the wet concrete cutter / chaser:
• Read through all safety instructions and warnings in this instruction manual.
• Check whether the voltage on the rating plate is identical with the mains voltage.
• Before each use, check the machine, connection cable, plug and tight fit of the grind-
ing disc.
• Connect a suitable water supply (e.g. BAIER water pressure vessel, see Tools and
Accessories, page 13).
• Connect a suitable dust/water extractor for wet cutting and chasing (e.g. BAIER
special dust extractor, see Tools and Accessories, page 13).
• The wet concrete cutter / chaser may only be used, either if a dust extractor is con-
nected (see also next point) or if the socket for connection of the dust extractor hose
is closed off with a cap.
• If materials that produce harmful dusts are cut (e.g. quartz sand, lead-containing
paint pigments, etc.), a suitable dust / water extractor (e.g. BAIER special dust ex-
tractor) must be connected to the wet concrete cutter / chaser.
• Wear protective clothing such as hard hat, hearing protection or safety goggles,
safety gloves and if necessary an apron.
• Use only BAIER grinding discs to ensure adequate safety.
• Danger!
Risk of injuries caused by breaking off of the cutting edges of the grinding disc.
► Only use grinding discs, whose approved speed is at least as high as the highest
no-load speed of the wet concrete cutter / chaser, and follow the manufacturer's
instruction on fitting and using the grinding discs.
• Only use the grinding discs recommended by Maschinenfabrik OTTO BAIER GmbH
for the respective use (see table on page 13).
• Please note!
We can only guarantee the machine's full performance if it is used with the BAIER
dust extractor.
• Danger!
Risk of fire if cable drums used.
► If cable drums are used, ensure the cable is completely unwound. The rolled up
cable can heat up and start to burn.
