lubrication and filled with fuel prior to operation. Refer to the
manufacturer's engine manual for instructions and details
of operation and servicing.
The definitions below describe the basic components of
the engine and associated pumps.
1. Thermostat — Regulates the temperature of the
engine coolant.
2. Oil filler Cap — Remove to add engine oil. Add only
recommed type oil. See
3. Muffler — Used to reduce noise and emissions.
4. Alternator — Provides charge for battery and voltage
for the +12 VDC electrical system.
5. Gear Pump — Positive displacement pump that
pumps a constant amount of fluid for each revolution.
6. Axial Piston Pump — Positive displacement pump
that converts rotary motion to linear motion
7. Starter — Starts engine when ignition key is rotated
to the "START" position.
8. Oil Pan — Holds a maximum of 3.6 quarts (3.4 liters)

entering the fuel injection system. Replace or clean as
recommended in maintenance section of this manual.
13. Engine Controller — Controls engine speed.
14. Air filter — Prevents dirt and other debris from entering
the fuel system. Unsnap air filter cover to gain access
to filter element.
15. Spark Plug — Provides spark to the ignition system.
Set spark plug gap to 0.6 - 0.7 mm (0.028 - 0.031 inch).
16. Engine Mounting Brackets (4)
brackets and rubber isolators are used to support the
engine and are attached to power unit frame.
17. Oil Dipstick — Remove to check amount and condition
of oil in crankcase.
18. Vaporizer — Used for vaporizing liquid fuel gases
Primary function is to heat up the LPG.
