    Structure and function Function 3.10 Function The FDCW221 communicates with the control panel via the FDnetdetector line. The range of the radio signal in buildings is up to 40 m and is heavily dependent on materials and equipment. If the radio cells overlap, the maximum number of radio gateways is limited to 16 radio gateways or radio cells because of the limited number of channels available.

    In terms of topology, the radio detectors logged onto the radio gateway are in a stub. The stub branches off on the FDnet detector line between the FDCW221 and the integrated line separator FDCL221 of the radio gateway (see figure below).

In configuration operation, the status indicator displays flash sequences to indicate the field strength.

    Structure and function Function 3.10.7 Power supply Radio gateway FDCW221 The radio gateway is normally powered via the FDnet detector line. Should the mains voltage fail, the radio gateway is powered via the battery in the control panel. Brief open lines (<5 hours) on the detector line can be bridged by the 9 V lithium manganese dioxide batteries.

In each case, the button in the radio gateway has to be pressed briefly to either change from the exited 'Scan mode for the basic channel' or from normal operation to configuration operation.

The stub passes through the FDnet detector line between the FDCW221 and the integrated line separator FDCL221 of the radio gateway.
