Microwave Oven
The Litton Industries, portable microwave
oven is available as an option in your
Airstream. Airstream dealers cannot service
or make adjustments to the oven, This must
be done by an authorized Litton Industries
service agency. If you ever have problems
with the oven check the list of authorized
service agents, This list is packed in your
microwave oven.
To operate your Litton microwave oven:
1. Depress door release.
2. Place food item inside oven.
3. Set the appropriate Vari-Cook" setting for
your food. (See Vari-Cook Cookbook.)
4. Set timer for desired time. (See push-to-
turn dial timer.)
5. Close door. Oven will start cooking. (The
microwave oven may be opened at any
point to check food even if time is left on
the dial. The timer will maintain the
proper time setting and cooking will
commence when door is reclosed.)
6. When the time is up, a bell rings once
and the oven shuts off automatically.
Note: The moisture on the inside of
your microwave oven is normal and
nothing to worry about. It is caused by
the steam from the cooking food
hitting a cool oven surface. The inside
of the door of the microwave oven may
seem to ripple when you cook; it is
only expanding because of heated air
or steam and will return to normal
when cool.
Never operate your microwave oven unless
the removable shelf is in place. The shelf
may be cleaned in the dishwasher.
To operate the push-to-turn dial timer,
push knob in and turn clockwise to the
desired time. For settings of 15 seconds or
less push and turn dial to 1 minute first,
then back to the desired time. To decrease
time, push knob in and turn counter
clockwise. Time can be increased or
decreased at any point during the
operation of the unit.
Note: It is normal for the timer knob to
spin freely when knob is not pushed in.
The Vari-Cook'"feature of your oven gives
you total flexibility of choosing your speed
of cooking. The "HIGH" setting provides
the greatest cooking speed and settings
between "HIGH" and "WARM" provide
decreasing amounts of cooking speed.
For further information and microwave
cooking recipes, refer to your Vari-
Cook ® Cookbook.
Note: While your oven is operating in a
Vari-Cook selection other than "HIGH"
the interior light will vary in intensity and
the oven will make a slight humming
sound. These are normal occurrences
and an indication that oven is operating
as designed.
Please read your cooking guide care¬
fully. It will help you learn about your new
Litton Electronic Oven quickly.
Your microwave oven is portable and can
be removed for use in your home when
your trailer is not in use. This can be done
by removing the attachment screw that is
located in the top of the cabinet directly
below the oven.
