3 Status LED Bar

3.1 DSP Card Status/Load LEDs

The meaning of the Status/Load LEDs is related to the firmware of the Compact SCore which is made out of
two parts – the SH4-BIOS and the firmware package (SH4, DSP and FPGA run-time firmware) that is
downloaded at boot-up.
The top 2 LEDs are always indicating the Status of the Board whereas the lower 8 LEDs display health and
load of the current status.

HEALTH / LOAD
With two dedicated LEDs for the status a total of 4 different states can be indicated. The most important two
states are idle (waiting for code) and processing (card fully operating and processing audio).
If none of the status LEDs is lit the firmware is making a transition from idle to processing or vice versa or the
self-test at power-up did not successfully complete. Whenever both status LEDs are lit the firmware is in
memory-test mode (switch 1 of the DSP board is ON).
The following diagram shows all 4 possible states of the DSP card:

The following four sub-chapters describe the Health/Load indication for each of the four states.
