9.1

Basic instructions

Basic instructions
The alarm indications valid for your machine are dependent on the individual equipment.
1. Do not attempt fault rectification measures other than those given in this manual.
2. In all other cases,
have the fault rectified by an authorised KAESER Service Technician.

Alarms

Alarm
Machine does not start.
Machine starts with difficulty.
Machine runs hot.
Motor overload protection trips
out after a short time.
Motor overload protection trips
out after a long time.

Possible cause
A fuse has blown and the ma‐
chine is shut down.
Defective pressure switch con‐
tact.
Motor overload protection has
tripped.
Compressor motor defective:
Bearing damage or winding
short-circuit.
Compressor block defective.
Venting valve on the pressure
switch not opening.
Bearing damage.
Piston seized due to insufficient
or incorrect oil.
Fault in the power supply.
Oil level too high.
Ambient temperature too high.
Fan cannot draw air freely.
Valves* or valve plate between
cylinder head and cylinder are
leaking or dirty.
Outlet valve reed broken.
Fault in the power supply.
Motor fault.
Current too high because of low
supply voltage.
Remedy
Check motor connections and
fuses (circuit breakers).
Replace the pressure switch.
Allow the motor to cool down.

Maintain or replace the unload‐
ing valve.
