Hard drive
NOTE:
The hard drive spare part kit does not include the hard drive bracket, cable, or screws. The hard drive
bracket and screws are available using spare part number 856068-001. The hard drive cable is available using
spare part numbers 909096-001 and 856066-001.
Description
1-TB, 5400-rpm, SATA, 7.2-mm hard drive
500-GB, 5400-rpm, SATA, 7.2-mm hard drive
500-GB, 5400-rpm, SATA, 7.0-mm, 8.0-GB NAND hybrid solid-state hard drive
Before removing the hard drive, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the computer.

Disconnect the battery cable from the system board (see
Remove the hard drive:
1.
Release the ZIF connector (1) to which the hard drive cable is connected, and then disconnect the hard
drive cable from the system board.
2.
Remove the four Phillips PM2.0×4.6 screws (2) that secure the hard drive to the bottom cover.
3.
Use the hard drive tab (3) to remove the hard drive (4).
