12 INSTALLATION OF THE OUTDOOR UNIT

12.1 SELECTING THE ASSEMBLy LOCATION

WARNING!
Outdoor units must be placed in accessible areas for
subsequent maintenance and repair operations. Saunier
Duval will not be responsible for any costs derived from
incorrect positioning that prevents easy access.
Danger of personal injury and material damage from
explosion!
Install the unit away from gases or inflammable or
easily combustible substances and free from thick dust
formation.
Danger of personal injury and material damage from
collapse!
If mounting the unit on the floor, ensure that the ground
can withstand the weight of the outdoor unit and allow
it to fit in a horizontal position.
If mounting the unit on the wall, ensure that the wall
can withstand the weight and use an adequate support
(available as accessory). Use plugs for heavy loads
suited to the wall characteristics.
WARNING!
Danger of corrosion.
Do not install the unit near to corrosive materials.
WARNING!
Danger of breakdowns or malfunction.
Choose an area protected from the direct effect of
excessive wind and which, nevertheless, is well
ventilated (air intake and outlet must occur freely).
- The outdoor unit can only be mounted outdoors, never
inside a building.
- Do not install the unit in such a way that the air current
affects the air inlets of premises nearby.
- If possible avoid direct sunlight.
- Ensure that the floor or wall for assembly has sufficient
rigidity in order to avoid vibrations. Plan the possible use
of shock absorbers.
- Check that there is sufficient space to observe the minimum
distances (see Figure 1.1).
- Check that neighbours are not disturbed by draughts or
noise.
- If the premises are rented obtain the owner's consent.
- Comply with local regulations: there are considerable
differences depending on the area.
- Leave enough space to position a condensed water removal
pipe (see section 1.) and for the possible height of
snow.
