GENESIS OPERATIONS MANUAL
Program
A set of instructions entered by the user and retained by the controller for activating stations at certain times and
for specified lengths of time.
Program/Start
A Program option that affects a specified Start within a Program. Some features in the controller affect entire
Programs and others affect only selected starts within a Program.
rain shutdown
A feature that allows you to stop all irrigation at once and have it remain off until the controller is placed back into
Auto Operation. Can be used in case of rain or emergency, or if irrigation interferes with some event or activity.
Run Time
The total number of minutes or seconds a single output is activated. Depending on the mode, Run Time can be
from one second to four hours and 15 minutes.
scale
A proportional relationship between the Run Time originally programmed and the actual Run Time. The Scale
option adjusts the Run Time of a particular Program/start by a certain percentage: To increase Run Time, set the
scale to a number greater than 100%. To decrease Run Time, set the scale to a number less than 100%.
schedule
The number of calendar days in the irrigation pattern, as well as identification of day in the pattern. For example,
you can specify that today is day 5 of a 28-day schedule.
semi-auto mode
A feature that allows you to start a selected Start within a Program at any time ... regardless of the time that
Program is set to begin. All remaining stations will start and run sequentially to the end of that Program.
skip days
An option that allows you to suspend normal operation for a specified number of days.
Start time
The time of day when a cycle begins. For example, Station 1 (a valve) goes on at 6 AM, runs for 10 minutes, and
shuts off at 6:10 AM. The Start time for this cycle is 6 AM.
station
A device in the field that responds to a signal from the controller - may be a single valve, a group of valves, lights,
or a fountain, for example.
syringe
A brief irrigation cycle. Not intended for deep watering - used for washing or cooling plant surfaces.
triac board
The board which receives electronic outputs from the CPU and converts them to 24VAC outputs to the valve
wiring (usually connected to an output board .
