OIL PUMP, CRANKCASE AND CRANKSHAFT

INSPECTION

1. Measure:
S Runout
Use the V-blocks and a dial gauge.
Out of specification ! Replace or repair the
crankshaft.
Dial gauge:
90890-03097, YU-03097
Maximum runout:

b 84.5 mm (3.33 in)
2. Measure:
S Small end free play a
Use the dial gauge.
Out of specification ! Replace the defective
parts.
Small end free play:
0.8 X 1.0 mm (0.03 X 0.04 in)
S Big end side clearance b
Use the thickness gauge.
Out of specification ! Replace the defective
parts.
Big end side clearance:
0.25 X 0.75 mm (0.01 X 0.03 in)
3. Inspect:
S Crankshaft bearing 1
Pitting/damage ! Replace.
S Stopper ring 2
Bends/damage ! Replace.
S Crankshaft oil seals 3
S Impeller drive gear teeth 4
Wear/damage ! Replace.
CAUTION:
Lubricate the bearings immediately after ex-
amining them in order to prevent rust.
