Defrost thermistor

Cut the nylon fastener and detach the defrost thermistor from
the evaporator. (See photo 30.)
The defrost thermistor and the evaporator pipe heater are
connected to the 4-pin connector. Cut the lead wires of the
defrost thermistor at the base of the 4-pin connector.

Installation:
Connect the replacement defrost thermistor to the evaporator
connector. (See photo 32.)
Secure the defrost thermistor to the muffler with 3 nylon fas-
teners (large) provided with the replacement defrost thermis-
tor. Then, tie the lead wires of defrost thermistor and those
of the evaporator pipe heater together with a nylon fastener
(small). (See photos 33, 34.) (If they are attached to an incor-
rect position, thermal characteristics will be altered.)
After connecting the defrost thermistor connector securely,
stow the connector in the cover of the fan grille.(See photo
29.)

Replacement defrost thermistor
As the picture shows, attach the thermistor to
the muffler on the side which does not face
the evaporator.
