OPERATING PROCEDURE
Evaporator
(17)
Remove the 4-pin connector that is stowed in the contoured
section of inner liner.
Detach the brazed section of piping. Remove the tab protrud-
ing from the inner liner to remove the evaporator. (See photo
25, figures 17, 18.)
Installation:
Attach the evaporator to the tab protruding from the inner
liner. (See figures 17, 18.)
Check both the entry side (black tube) and the exit side (gray
tube) of the evaporator. Braze the entry side to the pipe with
black marking, leading from the inner liner; and the exit side
to the other pipe.

The refrigerant flows in the muffler from top to bot-
tom. The pipe from the evaporator exit leads to the
top of the muffler. The pipe from the muffler (gray
tube) leads to the no-marking unit outlet pipe.
Connect the connector leading from the evaporator to the con-
nector on the contoured section of inner liner. Stow the lead
wires in the contoured section and cover it with seal tape.
When the piping around the muffler is stored, make sure
that there is no contact between the aluminum pipe and
the copper pipe. (If they are in contact with each other,
gas leakage may occur due to galvanic corrosion.)
