    Product description 3 Product description 3.1 Configuration The VEGAPULS 62 radar sensor is available in two electronics Versions versions: Standard electronics type PS60K Electronics with increased sensitivity type PS60S The respective version can be determined by means of the type label on the electronics.

    Use the recommended cables (see chapter "Connecting to Moisture power supply") and tighten the cable gland. You can give your VEGAPULS 62 additional protection against moisture penetration by leading the connection cable down- ward in front of the cable entry. Rain and condensation water can thus drain off.

    4.2 Mounting preparations - Horn antenna Information: This information applies only to special versions! VEGAPULS 62 is also available in versions where the "antenna has a bigger diameter" than the process fitting (thread, flange). The antenna must therefore be disconnected from the process fitting before mounting.

When mounting VEGAPULS 62, keep a distance of at least Installation position 200 mm (7.9 in) to the vessel wall. If the sensor is installed in the center of concave or arched vessel tops, multiple echoes can arise.

You will find recommended values for socket heights in the following illustration. The socket end should be smooth and burr-free, if possible also rounded.

  • Page 24 Marking of the polarisation direction When mounting the sensor on a bypass tube, the distance of VEGAPULS 62 to the upper tube connection should be approx. 300 mm (12 in) or more. In case of extremely rough tube inner walls, you should use an inserted tube (tube within tube) or a radar sensor with tube antenna.

To have the real product level displayed, an allocation of the measured distance to the percentage height must be made.
