• Remove the swing arm pivot nut 1.
• Remove the swing arm by removing its pivot shaft.

INSPECTION AND DISASSEMBLY

SWINGARM BUSHING/SWINGARM
Inspect the swing arm bushing for wear or damage. Inspect the
swinger for distortion.
If any defects are found, replace the swing arm bushings and
swing arm with new ones.
CHAIN BUFFER
Inspect the chain buffer for wear or damage. If any defects are
found, replace the chain buffer with a new one.
SWINGARM PIVOT SHAFT
Using a dial gauge, check the pivot shaft run out and replace it if
the run out exceeds the limit.
09900-20606: Dial gauge (1/100 mm, 10 mm)
09900-20701: Magnetic stand
09900-21304: V-block (100 mm)
Service Limit: 0.3 mm
SHOCK ABSORBER
Inspect the shock absorber body for damage and oil leakage. If
any defects are found, replace the shock absorber with a new
one.
Do not attempt to disassemble the rear shock
absorber unit. It is unserviceable.
