7.3.3 Auto-detect

Auto-detection only works if the Service Utility is online. Check the Title line of the
Service Utility window, see Figure 17. When offline, connect to the system by choosing
File/Connect.
To auto-detect the topology, click
Yes.
A detected topology appears on the left showing all connected HD View
units, as in the following figure.
You can detect the current topology at any time by pressing
updates all connected and disconnected ports.
Auto-detect, deletes all names given to particular ports. Naming ports is explained on
page 26.
Hold the mouse over any of the rows in the menu tree or over any button. A callout
appears with information about the device or button function.
